I understand that many students and families are overwhelmed at this time and that many were struggling to meet the previous due date. I hope this extra time will help reduce some stress. My Pacing Recommendations:
- Reading- Read the equivalent of 20 pages a day to finish on time. (That could mean 40 pages one day and no reading the next. It could be 20 pages every day. It is up to you to organize your time.)
- Journal by Chapter - Write as soon as you finish reading each chapter so you don’t get events mixed up with other chapters.
- Vocabulary - Complete one list each week.

With students needing more time on previous assignments and a few scheduling conflicts, we were unable to begin reading A Raisin in the Sun last week. With Thanksgiving this week, I have decided to wait and begin reading the play next week when we return from break. Therefore, we are watching a film with thematic relevance to the play and gaining insight into the setting and background that pertains to the characters we will be reading about.
